Kumi Cottage

This refurbishment project entailed conversion of an existing Residential house into a boutique Bed & Breakfast Ugandan experience.
The old two-storey house was preserved externally, while modifications made internally to accommodate a large living area, open plan kitchen and dining, outdoor terraces, a social den, 4No. Bathrooms, 5No. Guest rooms and 1No. Master Bedroom.

A brilliant theme based on the vernacular names of Uganda’s most popular fruits was used, with each room named according to size and capacity.
The Client highlighted a need for natural, light & airy finishes in the common spaces which would encourage interaction between guests.
Sourcing and selective curating of the furniture, accessories and décor are to be the hallmark of the interiors. Stimulating textures of woven fabric, basket fibres, warm timber look tiles, and welded metal tell the story of local craftsmanship.
